VOICE LESSONS

Vocal training is more than just about singing well. It’s about confidence, projection and communication – skills which come in extremely beneficial later in life, whether you pursue singing for a living or not. Our vocal system is based on the world-renowned IVA/SLS method practiced by practically all the international singing stars from pop to rock to musical theatre and classical genres. The course is tailored to suit the needs of medium, advanced and even semi-professional solo singers.

SHARED SINGING LESSONS

A shared singing lesson is a great way to take up singing and have fun learning with friends, all at half the cost. In a shared lesson, students commit more quickly to a home practice routine and thus they progress more quickly in skill and in confidence.
Students in group lessons also have a stronger sense of internal pulse and rhythm, they have opportunities for greater creative exploration, they hear a greater variety of repertoire and they stimulate and energize each other.

PIANO LESSONS

Nobody ever regretted taking up piano. Ever! The king of instruments has found fertile ground at SIS and is the most popular instrumental course on campus. The students are guided using the Piano Adventures© method which all but guarantees the best possible results and is additionally tailored individually to each student. Furthermore, piano labs are newly incorporated into lessons every term for students to gain performance experience, poise and composure. From beginners to medium advanced.

After-School Clubs

Girl Band or Mixed Vocal Group

This after school club is designed for 2-5 girls to form their very own girl band! You will select a name for yourselves and choose songs to rehearse and perform throughout the year. Each 1-hour session will consist of healthy vocal warm-ups, individual vocal analysis and targets for improvement, harmony singing and of course, intensive rehearsal! Includes an end of year group studio recording session and one mastered recording. Girl Bands may also choose the *Stage & Studio option.

Boy Band or Mixed Vocal Group

This after school club is designed for 2-5 boys to form their very own boy band! You will select a name for yourselves and choose songs to rehearse and perform throughout the year. Each 1-hour session will consist of healthy vocal warm-ups, individual vocal analysis and targets for improvement, harmony singing and of course, intensive rehearsal! Includes an end of year group studio recording session and one mastered recording. Boy Bands may also choose the *Stage & Studio option.

Rock Band

This after school club is designed for instrumentalists of 3-5 members to form their very own rock band! You may audition on either bass, guitar, piano, drums, vocals or other potential instruments. Youraudition should consist of two full-length songs that you can play in front of other prospective members.In Rock Band, you will select a name for yourselves and choose songs to rehearse and performthroughout the year. Each 1-hour session will consist of tuning & warming-up, individual instrumentanalysis and practice targets and of course, intensive rehearsal! Where needed, instructors in guitar anddrums will assist with the class.Includes an end of year group studio recording session and one mastered recording.*Rock Bands may also choose the *Stage & Studio option

Stage & Studio

SIMA’s “Stage & Studio” program is for all dedicated singers and musicians – Rock Bands, Girl Bands, Boy Bands, Mixed Vocal Groups or Solo Artists

Very few schools (outside of specialist music schools) have their own recording and music production facilities, but SIS/SIMA provides a state-of-the-art studio, complete with a seasoned professional producer. Nothing beats being able to hear oneself on a recording of the highest quality. And we don’t just record the students – we go to great lengths to optimize their performances using various techniques to achieve the best results they’re currently capable of. The studio work is complemented by intensive instrument and/or vocal coaching, as well as a full online, CD or MP3 album of all songs learned throughout the year.

Stage & Studio includes everything outlined in the Girl Band / Boy Band and Rock Band After School Club, plus an extra hour than includes: Song writing development, Music production & arrangement, Video diaries, Photo Shoot, Video Shoot, CD Album with artwork and all mastered recordings

PRO STUDIO RECORDINGS & ARTIST DEVELOPMENT

Students who are more serious about developing their singing and performance talents have a unique opportunity at SIS – they can sign up for pro studio sessions with professional guidance. Covers as well as original songs can be developed. Some of our students have already scored music industry RECORD DEALS and have, indeed, launched their potential recording careers early, even while studying at SIS!

BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC – ONLINE COURSES

SIMA is in the unique position to offer courses from the world’s premier Music College. The courses range from music business to music production to performance and everything in between. Additionally, each completed course results in 3 US credits (equivalent to anything between 30 and 180 UCAS points, depending on course and target university), accepted by practically all colleges around the world. This is a phenomenal opportunity to gain practical experience as well as academic credentials even before embarking on the Diploma route or going to university.

We have years of pro music business experience over at SIMA and we’re happy to share our hard-won real-world lessons with dedicated students. Our courses range from music business to music marketing as well as music production, arrangement and song writing. Available to groups and invidideals. Appointments subject to time availability.

SECONDARY CHOIR (“The SIS Choir”)

Few things in life are more enjoyable than singing in harmony-based vocal groups, and this option is open to all interested students willing to join this exhilarating activity. All secondary vocal students are encouraged to participate in this student led activity that each year raises money for local and international charities in need. Organized by Miss Laura & Mr. Wickersham. The SIS Choir has recently released a record (“Whole Lotta People”) for the benefit of The Kindred Project.

SIMA’s Songwriting & Production Course

SIMA’s SONGWRITING & PRODUCTION COURSE

Whether you’re an aspiring professional songwriter or just want to learn a new an invaluable skill, this course is bound to get your creative juices flowing like never before. Coached by our own award-winning, hit songwriter/producer, Paul Sedkowski, (and occasionally also along with occasional Grammy-winning guests!), this course will help you develop your writing skills in a broad variety of musical styles, blazing a path for you to becoming a professional songwriter/producer.

Writing a song is easy. Writing a song that can earn you money – that’s a whole different ball game. The skills needed to create a high artistic value but commercially viable song will surprise you. No wonder songwriters are the biggest earners in the music industry, and, typically, also generally the brightest and most broadly educated!

Learning the rules, understanding the tips and tricks, feeling the depth of harmony and being in sync with your target audiences are just the first steps in developing your songwriting skills. You won’t merely learn to write really well, but you’ll also get to record your original song in our professional recording studio. Don’t miss this excellent 3-semester course!
