Here are some of the songs from Laura’s 2006 album “Nothing But Trouble”. The story of this album was… nothing but trouble, lol. After a few demos we actually managed to get a record deal. As we were preparing for the final mixes, we were hit by a massive FLOOD which destroyed all our mixes and even most of our backups…! So, I had to try to smoehow rebuild the album – with only one month to go before the deadline – using CUE vocals and partial arrangements, etc. This is why the album is such a hogde-podge of different styles and ideas. Some of the songs on the album weren’t supposed to be on it… But we rolled with us. As soon as the album was finished, John Coletta, our VIP manager… died.

I was convinced Moonlight was a “big band oldie” so I was really surprised when I heard it was Van The Man who wrote it! So when I arranged and played this, I “copied” what I “thought” was the original arrangement of it “from memory”. It turned out to be a false memory – I could never find another even remotely similar arrangement. We asked Van if we could rearrange the song and use it on Laura’s album and quickly got approved. Reportedly, Van really liked this version!

We wrote dozens of songs for Sue Campbell (a.k.a. Emily Stone), who used to be in a group together with Bonnie Tyler. We knew Sue was a bit “old” for “pop stardom”, but we loved her voice and tried a dozen different styles with her. Here’s a traditional-ish blues rock track.
