Unbelievable as it sounds, The SIS Choir got a record deal with ToCo International for their song “Whole Lotta People“, dedicated entirely to THE KINDRED PROJECT!
While almost all of our development artists are actually sourced from within the ranks of The SIS Choir, I never originally considered the choir itself as a viable commercial project. This all changed when Miss Laura Krier, the choir director, asked me to create a song especially for the choir, in order to support The Kindred Project. She suggested that I revive an older song of mine which she particularly liked – and, at length, that’s exactly what I did, even re-writing parts of it especially for the occasion. And thus “Whole Lotta People” was born.
Once the song was finished and recorded, Laura, again her!, insisted that I show it to some of the labels I work with in the UK and elsewhere. And once again, I resisted. I just didn’t quite see it. But she turned out to be right after all. As soon as I’ve sent the song over, I got an immediate (same day) response that ToCo Int’l (one of the largest independent record labels) is very interested not only in releasing the song, but also in supporting The Kindred Project. And the rest, as they say, is history.
“Whole Lotta People” was released on December 7th 2018 and is gradually being promoted all around the world. Why “gradually”? It’s because the Christmas period is just about the toughest time to break a record, when you consider that we’re up against all the major labels pumping millions of dollars into each one of their releases. So, we’re building this slowly – but, hopefully, surely.
