Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, right? Who’s to say if your music is “good” or not? Well… yes and no.

Sure, art is subjective. But craft is not.

When you create your original music (or sing covers, doesn’t matter), you need to be able to blend the two (art AND craft) seamlessly and tastefully.

complexBut it’s difficult to know “objectively” if you’re any good, when you are the only judge – or if your only other source of objective critique is your own doting mother!

So the first thing you need to do is get real. You need to have the ability to realistically assess what you’ve got and how to improve it, if need be.

The point is not to look for perfection. Sure, seeking perfection is your prerogative as an artist. But you also need to know when to stop and move on. The point is to get started!

If you’re reading this book, it’s probably because you already have something which you feel is worth promoting and deserves to make money for you. So all you probably need now is to just cross a few t’s and dot a few i’s.
