Jessica Loren – “DNA”
What a superb quality production and performance here. In spite of the longish intro, the listener will be enthralled throughout. Pop just doesn’t get much better than this. After that moody, sexy opening verse the song leads you to a killer chorus – and you’re gone! Definitely a potential worldwide hit!
Hype Theory – “We Will Be Signing”
Excellent edge here and a wonderful blend of “indie” and “mainstream” energies. Fabulous quality on all levels, and definitely top hit potential. Oh and did we mention superb vocal? Stunning.
Lauren Mazur – “In The Way”
While ballads only rarely break artists in, this one is well worth a listen under any circumstances. Beautiful, thoughtful, deep, superbly executed – Lauren amply proves why she belongs at the top on this show – and beyond, both vocally and as a songwriter!
Bryan Eich – “Heaven’s Just a Feeling”
Slight “Sweet Emotion” echoes (Aerosmith) but only in the most positive sense. The sound here is nicely up-to-date and, arguably, this is probably Bryan”s strongest song to date (commercially speaking). We all loved it! Old school meets new, but Bryan comes out on top!
Bobby Tinsley – “What About Bob?”
Sometimes a song takes much too long to go through the ranks here. Wake up reviewers! We’ve been wanting to see this one make the Final ever since we heard it a year ago. It’s totally compatible with current charts, but it’s actually better than most. Subtle, sweet, minimalist – and hip! Tasteful in every respect. We loved it!
View From Everest – “Trembling”
Wow! Great lyrics, a really cool lead vocal and a very good production all around. And what a killer hook! What’s not to like? Slight U2 echoes here and there as well. The production sound could still be improved, but not without shelling out for a pro studio. World class result under any circumstances!
…and how did these artists make it to the Final?
Through the SEMI-Final, of course!
